There's a certain sense of living with each piece that I carve. My wood carvings seem to bring out a certain emotion, if you will, with each person who sees them. I've learned many different approaches to life through my wood carvings, as well. I've learned a softer side to life through observation in nature. My wood carvings are symbols of the way that I see them in life. I've a very simple outlook on lots of things In life that have seemed to work for me. I'm just an old country- Kentucky boy that happened to grow up along the banks of the Mississippi River. So when I carve a piece, all the experiences that I had concerning the outdoors come back to me! The people have been really good to me in freedom to work wood carvings.
I can carve to specs with a project... but I've found most folks want the way the artist feels it. I have a great experience with both approaches to wood carvings. For it is you the people, that makes it all a real-life experience for me. Wood carvings can be spectacular windows to the soul. When people gaze upon their beauty, it seems to "Stir" their emotion! Wood carvings will bring out an emotion in the beholder. Each piece that I carve, here at Simple Life wood carvings, seems to make myself and the carving to become one! My wood carvings are representative of the things that I hold pure at heart. My desire is that each wood carving that I do will Show the peaceful side of living! There is much clutter and confusion today... a lot of things going on in life seem to be somewhat disorganized. Did you ever stop and just watch the birds and the animals in their everyday routines? I've spent many hours just observing the little critters. They just seem to be looking at us as if they're thinking... " what are you people rushing about"? Now I do realize that we are not animals, but we do rush about a lot more than necessary. The point in hand is that we need to learn from our little friends.
